Kendrick Lamar to perform at halftime of Super Bowl LIX

This will mark the second time Lamar has performed at halftime of a Super Bowl after he was featured along with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Mary J. Blige for the halftime show at Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium in 2022.

Lamar posted the news in a social media post.

“Rap music remains the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why,” Lamar said in a statement. “They’ve absolutely nailed it.”

“Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar,” ”Time and time again, Kendrick has demonstrated his unique ability to create moments that resonate, redefine and ultimately shake the foundations of hip-hop.”

NFL music chief Seth Dudowsky added.

“We are excited to collaborate with Kendrick, Roc Nation and Apple Music to deliver another unforgettable Halftime Show.”

Lamar has won 17 Grammys so far in his career and became the first non-classical, non-jazz musician to win a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album DAMN.

It will be Lamar’s second time performing at halftime of a Super Bowl, after he performed alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Mary J. Blige at the halftime show of Super Bowl LVI, held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in 2022.
