Official Nintendo released the first preview of its new Switch 2 console, this launch caused great excitement in all Nintendo fans, who expect this console to surpass its predecessor.

According to official information Nintendo Switch 2 plays Nintendo Switch games in physical and digital format. Some Nintendo Switch games may not be fully or partially compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. More information will be shared on Nintendo’s website in the future.
Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will still be able to use this service on Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo Direct

All the details of the Nintendo Switch 2 will be revealed in the next Nintendo Direct to be broadcast worldwide on April 2, 2025.

Special events in the United States

Experience it firsthand Try Nintendo Switch™ 2, the successor to the Nintendo Switch console, at events in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas.

Tickets will be made available through a free, randomly selected drawing. Register during the registration period for a chance to attend. Registration is open from Jan. 17 at 12 p. m. PT / 2 p. m. CT / 3 p. m. ET through Jan. 26 at 11:59 p. m. local time for each event location. Registrants will be notified of the sweepstakes results shortly thereafter. A free Nintendo account is required to participate. Events in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas are open to U.S. residents only.
