Pluto City presents ‘Centenario Boy’

Ciudad Plutón is the solo project of the musician from Cali, Santiago Martínez Satizábal. The name of the project was born from a dream that Santiago had more than 10 years ago where there was a character in a dystopian world trying to find a treasure…

… That world in the dream was called Ciudad Plutón, a dichotomy between the earthly/urban and the astrological. Between 2013 and 2014, during his stay in Oxford, UK; he decided to compose songs under this name and in Bogotá, during his university days (2014-2022), he began to give it shape.

“Ciudad Plutón is an eclectic project and for my first EP it includes an eighties style with synthesizers and pads. I always try to be as personal as possible in my compositions and I have had many experiences throughout my life that I want to share through my lyrics and music, and that people can relate to in their own way.”

says the artist with influences from Charly García, The War on Drugs and Radiohead.

The song uses mostly pads and synthesizers. The guitar doesn’t appear until the solo. Stylistically, it has influences from bands like Gardens & Villa, The 1975 and Foster the People.

Something I like in my songs is to use surprise elements, in this case the guitar solo played by Nicolas Cobo,” he says.

The video for ‘Centenario Boy’ was shot in Side, Turkey during his residency in this country. The concept and story of the clip is based on the images and landscapes generated by the sunsets, regardless of the fact that the single is not set there.

During the first half of 2025, Ciudad Plutón will release two more remixes of ‘Centenario Boy’ (Sebtro and Tropicana Club) apart from the one he already released with Raiyei. In addition, he will publish ‘Megalómanos’ which is the third single from the EP ‘Valle Futura’ that will be published through the Bal Vienna Records label and, finally, he will present 3 more remixes of said single (artists to be defined), another single with a luxury collaboration and finally the EP in its entirety.

“My expectations for this stage of the project are based on having a good place within the music industry, mainly in Spanish, and being able to release a lot of music in the future and be able to play it at various festivals in LATAM.”

Pluto City concludes.
