Top Five Things To Know

1) Media Day on Saturday With Second Seed Tommy Paul

Paul reached the Australian Open semifinals last month, cracked the world’s Top 20 and lives here in Delray. He will be available to the media Saturday from 1-1:30 at the tournament site.

2) Inaugural Delray Beach Open Tennis/Beach Cup

At 3 p.m. Saturday media are welcome to come out to the south end of Delray Beach at Casuarina to see wild card Aleksandar Kovacevic and 2019 champion Radu Albot take on some local beach tennis players. Park/enter beach at Casuarina and A1A and walk north to the beach volleyball

courts.

3) New ATP Champions Tour Legends

Newly retired Sam Querrey scored his first-ever Champions Tour points, winning in straight sets over Jan-Michael Gambill. New legend Ivo Karlovic is still looking for his first points as he and

veteran Jesse Levine had a tall order against the former world No. 1 team of Bob and Mike Bryan, who won a tight 6-4, 7-6 match. Legends matches continue Saturday and Sunday.

4) Qualifying Matches Get Underway with Grand Slam ties

16 players are in the qualifying draw fighting for four spots in the ATP 250 main draw. Qualifying-round matches are Saturday and Sunday. Two of those players have Grand Slam ties – Rinky Hijikata just won his first Grand Slam doubles title at the Australian Open, and Brandon Holt is the son of two-time US Open champion Tracy Austin.

5) Re-Match Three Days Later

The singles main draw is out for the ATP 250 event starting Monday (see buttons at top to access draws). Of note is seventh seed John Isner faces fellow American JJ Wolf in the first round. They play

Saturday in the semifinals in Dallas. So their Delray match Tuesday at 1 p.m. will be a hotly contested re-match.
