Apple announced its annual Apple Event, to be held on September 7, at the Steve Jobs Theater at its Apple Park Campus, for many technology experts, this may be the date chosen for the launch of the new iPhone 14.
What’s new in the iPhone 14
Release date: This one seems pretty certain now: the iPhone 14 launch event will take place on September 7 and the phones will go on sale on September 16.
iPhone 14 Price: The iPhone 14 is strongly tipped to match the iPhone 13’s starting price of $799 / £779 / AU$1,349, but the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will increase by $100, starting at $1099.
Design: The non-Pro iPhone 14 model seems very likely to match the iPhone 13, but the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max seem likely to get a perforated camera instead of a notch. It seems almost certain that the iPhone 14 Mini has been replaced in the lineup by the iPhone 14 Max.
iPhone 14 Colors: With the big day just weeks away, the new iPhone shades are coming out: the big rumor suggests that both the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro will come in a new shade of purple, which seems to be the “in” color this year in the phone world. Other similar colors are expected, including blue, white, black and red for the 14 and gold, graphite and silver for the Pro.
Display: The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro will have 6.1-inch (or 6.06-inch) 1170 x 2532 OLED displays, while the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max will have 6.7-inch (or 6.68-inch) 1284 x 2778 OLED displays. A 120 Hz refresh rate is expected on the Pro models and 60 Hz on the others.
Camera: The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are advertised as 48 MP main cameras (up from 12 MP on current models), which will also allow 8K video recording. All but the standard iPhone 14 and 14 Max are likely to have a three-lens camera, while the base phone will have two rear lenses.
Specs: The iPhone 14 will have the A15 chipset again this year, but could have it renamed to the A16 with a very slight upgrade. All phones will have 6GB of RAM, according to rumors, but the Pro range will have faster and more advanced memory.
Battery: There are strong claims that battery capacity could increase, with phones getting thicker to house their larger batteries. A leak has detailed the specific possible capacities, and all of them will increase except the iPhone 14
