The Premier League officially returned this weekend; after more than two months of absence, the English top flight returned with a good amount of goals, the Big Six started with consistency in their first game, with the exception of Man Utd, the expected scorers were present.
It was also a good weekend for north London clubs, with Arsenal struggling against Crystal Palace, and Tottenham coming from behind to beat Southampton. Meanwhile, Chelsea put their inconsistent pre-season form behind them to beat Everton at Goodison Park.
Liverpool and Manchester United had a disappointing first weekend. Jürgen Klopp’s side failed to beat newly promoted Fulham and had to settle for a point, while United couldn’t even manage that as they lost at home to Brighton.
Newcastle, Bournemouth and Leeds also won, with Leicester and Brentford sharing the spoils in a weekend that saw 28 goals scored.
