Ghost of Tsushima, Hades y The Last of Us Part 2 lead the Game Developers Choice nominations

It was announced the nominees to receive the Game Developers Choices Awards 2021 for the video game industry, yesterday the news was released in the official media of the awards, among the nominees are big hits like The Last of Us Part 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Hades, these nominations for developers are important because they are the awards with the highest honors in the industry.

The Last of Us Part 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Hades, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Half-Life: Alyx were nominated for Game of the Year. The Last of Us Part 2, Hades and Ghost of Tsushima are tied for the most nominations this year, with six each.

The 21st annual Game Developers Choice Awards will be streamed on Swapcard and the official GDC Twitch channel.

In addition, the organizers also announced the 35th edition of the Game Developers Conference , which will take place July 19-23, 2021, and will feature more than 400 unique sessions, as well as training, inspiration and networking opportunities, all from the comfort of home.

Any game released in 2020, regardless of platform or medium, could be nominated this year, so you’ll see Kentucky Route Zero (which started in early 2013) nominated for Best Narrative of 2020. Nominees and winners are chosen by the International Choice Awards Network, a group of game developers from various parts of the industry.

Registration is open for the Game Developers Conference 2021

There is a registration fee for these conferences depending on the scenarios chosen.

This year’s GDC also marks the return of roundtable discussions and other unique formats aimed at bringing developers together, along with other networking sessions, opportunities to connect with key industry sponsors and many other unique features.

Here are some of the most important talks you’ll find at GDC in July:

Naughty Dog’s Mark Burroughs and Grant Hoechst will explain the development of the guitar playing mechanics in The Last of Us Part 2.

Ian Holstead of Ubisoft Montreal will explain how combat was designed in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

And EA Games’ director of accessibility, Karen Stevens, will share her expertise on accessibility best practices for mobility-impaired gamers.
